Thank You for your interest in Green Mountain Timber Frames,
located in southeastern Pa. We are a small company, and will
continue to remain so. This allows us to provide close, individual
attention to each and every project, one project at a time. We do
what we do because we love what we do. We are a “Hand-cut”
shop, and cannot fathom the idea of watching a million dollar
machine do what we love the most ….working with wood.
At Green Mountain Timber Frames, we understand that the
demand for Quality never dies, because people know what quality
is, since many of us grew up in homes that were constructed
during the era when quality was a given. Ornate Exterior trim
details, custom stair cases and bookshelves, solid wood doors, in-
laid hardwood floors and tile work , radiant heat, just to name a
few. Homes were built by the Carpenter/Builder, and his one crew
of hands-on craftsman who were there from start to finish. Homes
were built with pride, a far cry from the “assembly-line” method
of home building today.
Durability, Energy Efficiency and Functionality are the essential
elements of enduring home construction and design. With all of
the pride and attention to detail that went into the buildings of
yesterday, Energy Efficiency was least of concerns. Fossil fuels and
were cheap, and plentiful, and who cared if the wind blew thru the
walls and the heat went out the roof, just turn the heat up. Who
ever thought we were heading down the road where we’ve arrived
today. As many of our Homebuilding forefathers claim, “a home
has to breathe” and we agree, it certainly does....just not thru the
walls and roof, but in a controlled manner ....mechanically.
